В этом небольшом старом здании на Бёрбон-стрит иногда работал для отвода глаз новоорлеанский корсар и контрабандист Жан Лафитт (1780—1826), известный под прозвищем Pirate of the Gulf (пират Мексиканского залива). Во время осады Нового Орлеана (1815) в англо-американской войне во главе отряда авантюристов перешел на сторону американцев, выдав им некоторые секретные сведения англичан.
